International Dot Day

Today we joined the world in reading The Dot by Peter Reynolds. A great book of encouragement and motivation! We loved it! We even got to sing a song about it!

We celebrated by counting M&Ms by 10's, 5's, 2's and 1's. We. Decided it was much easier to count when we grouped them by 10's!!

We discussed the type of person we would like to become and a career that we could strive to attain!

WE ARE MAKING OUR MARK!!

First Week of First Grade

We officially completed our first week of First Grade 2014-15!!! We learned all about one another in our "Circle Up" time and all about classroom manners! It is going to be a great First Grade year!

We already LOVE reading!! This week we discussed how exciting reading can be in First!!! We see reading everywhere we look! The boys and girls learned about choosing a "Good Fit" book that fits them just right. We learned about our "Read to Self" manners and how we build stamina in reading. We also know that we read something that interests us daily so we can "Become Better Readers" and writers!!!!

Here are some pictures of us building our reading stamina during Read to Self!!!

We Love Reading!!!!!
