Sometimes you just have to have FUN!!! Our first graders are loving the gorgeous Texas weather! After a long Texas winter, spring means flowers, gardens, sunshine, some rain, happy days and just a lot of outside FUN!!!

Chicks and Salsa
We read the book Chicks and Salsa by Aaron Reynolds. We then made a birth announcement for our own chicks. And had a fiesta! We ate chips and salsa or queso and celebrated the birth of our chicks by dancing the Chicken Dance with Mrs. Simmons class. What a great day!!!!

Our Chicks hatched April 23!!! We watched the eggs in the incubator for 21 days and then......they began to hatch!
We were so excited the day we got to see them!
They grew and became fluffy and cute.

We planted a Salsa Garden! After weeding the garden, preparing the soil and planting, first graders are so proud! We can't wait to watch it grow.
