We are so excited we are headed to the zoo to observe our Texas Animals that we researched through our PBL! (Project Based Learning).
We also donated money to adopt a Texas zoo animal! We adopted the Texas Alligator. We can 't wait to observe it in a natural made habitat at the zoo!
It is so great to be able to learn all about the animals and then actually go to observe them as they live. We will fill you in on our day soon!!
We are learning about motion and movement..... We observed what it takes for things to move! Up/down, sideways, across, straight, forward, fast, slow, and lots of energy no matter what the movement. We found out that lots of things take more energy than others. We decided it was much easier to push something! We even talked about friction and how it can change motion!

Today is Read Across America in honor of the author Dr. Seuss! We had the privilege to skype with a children's author Supdita Barhan-Quallen from New Jersey! It was so exciting to listen to her read a book she has written. She even read us a book that is brand new! It is called Snoring Beauty. What a great day!

We are so engaged when we are studying Texas animals! We get to choose our animal and do the research with a group! We all worked together and collaborated to find all we could about our animal.
We are "Mystery Number" Skyping with our good friends at GES! We give them clues to guess the number and they give us clues to guess their number. It makes numbers so exciting! We love it!!
Today, Mrs. Moose read Christmas stories to First Grade!!! Our favorite was Santa and the Three Bears!!! She also read us The Legend of Chris Moose-----we predicted she loves this story because of the "Moose"!:). Thank You Mrs. Moose!!!!
We have been reading many versions of The Gingerbread Man. We loved comparing the stories, characters and endings. Even though we loved reading the books, our favorite part of the week was creating our own Gingerbread boy or girl! Take a look at the following slide show:)
